Dan Collins, Founder and Managing Director
Dan's passion for healthcare was sparked after supporting his father's challenging patient journey and subsequent death from a complex disease known as amyloidosis. The experienced business analyst was driven to assess the challenges and opportunities to improve the healthcare system. Dan discovered a lack of coordination, wastage and poor patient access, and set out to transform healthcare outcomes for Australia's biggest killers: cancer and cardiovascular disease.
Dan has led GenesisCare from a single cardiology clinic in Brisbane with seven doctors in 2005, to become a global healthcare leader with more than 2500 employees across three countries and more than 100 clinic locations. After setting up what has now become Europe's largest private cancer service, Dan is now spearheading the company's expansion into China and Asia, and also positioning GenesisCare to co-develop and roll-out new treatment technologies and novel therapies.
With GenesisCare now leading or participating in more than 100 clinical trials, Dan has recently set up the GenesisCare Foundation - a not for profit charity focused on two main goals: better supporting clinical research in cancer and heart disease, and helping patients and their families access essential care.
Prior to founding GenesisCare, Dan managed business development initiatives for listed healthcare company, DCA Group Ltd. He was involved with public market investor relations for DCA Group Ltd, several major re-capitalisations, and a privatisation of the company building on his previous roles in capital markets andmanagement consulting. Dan holds a Bachelors of Commerce/Economics (BCom/BEcon) from The University of Queensland.
